Get in Touch

This private reference site is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the office that holds the record.

Choose the Right Bremer Contact

The fastest route depends on the question. Use the sheriff and jail for county custody, the arresting police department for its incident report, the clerk for a filed case, and the relevant state or federal locator for custody outside the county.

  • Current Bremer County custody: Search IowaVINE, then call the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office at 319-352-5400 and choose option 2 for Jail and inmate information.
  • Sheriff report, inactive jail file, or booking photograph: Ask for the BCSO Civil / Records Division through the main number. The published schedule lists incident reports at $10 and photograph copies at $25, but availability and current cost should be confirmed.
  • Waverly Police report: Call 319-352-5400, option 4. Records hours are weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the minimum report cost is $10 and reports are not faxed.
  • Sumner Police matter: Call police non-emergency at 563-578-3241 or City Hall at 563-578-3242 to identify the records custodian.
  • Denver municipal record: Contact the City of Denver at 319-984-5642, 100 Washington Street, Denver, IA 50622, to identify the current custodian.
  • Court case or disposition: Use Iowa Courts Online or the Bremer County Clerk of Court, 415 East Bremer Avenue, Waverly, 319-352-5661.
  • State, federal, or immigration custody: Use the Iowa Department of Corrections Offender Search, the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, or the ICE Online Detainee Locator as appropriate.

Before Sending a Records Request

Include the full name, approximate incident or booking date, arresting agency, case number if known, and exact document requested. Ask separately for a police report, county booking record, and releasable photograph because different offices may hold them. No Bremer source promises a fixed response time for county or city records. Confidentiality rules can limit juvenile, victim, medical, sealed, or expunged information.

The home page explains the complete official lookup and request sequence. This site can explain that route, but only the originating office can respond to the request.
